About
My name is Shirley Adams and I have a deep reverence and passion for the Word of God as well as a lifelong interest in biology, nature, microbiology, and teaching.
Born and raised in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, I attended Chatham University, Benedum School of Medical Technology at West Penn Hospital, and University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health. Retired after a 45-year career, I have been honored to serve as a practitioner, an educator, and a technical supervisor in the field of clinical microbiology and medical laboratory science.
My career took me to South Carolina where I now reside in Mauldin with my husband, Tom Adams, a videographer and webmaster. We have one son, Russ, who is now married and a step-father to two precious girls.
My journey with the Lord began when my Mom first explained Jesus’ saving work on the cross to me as a young child in grade school. I decided to follow Jesus for myself at the age of sixteen and believe that God has led me to this place and time. Currently, as a member of Mauldin First Baptist Church, I sing in choir, teach Bible study classes, operate a camera in the video ministry, and volunteer for a local Good News Club. Besides these volunteer activities, I occasionally write stories for a local newspaper.
I believe that our Lord continues to speak to us through His Word and through our daily encounters. We just need to have our eyes open and our ears attuned so that we don’t miss it. It is so easy to let the daily grind and the many voices and distractions of our time drown out His calling. I hope that you will join with me in this great adventure!
I am available for speaking engagements on inspirational topics. If you would like for me to be a presenter at your organization, complete the contact form.
